Broncos, Frank Clark Revise Contract, Increasing Trade Likelihood

The Broncos appear to be gearing up to make moves after a 1–4 start to the 2023 NFL season, with Frank Clark potentially the next name to monitor. While one domino already fell with the trade sending Randy Gregory to the Vikings, signs point to Clark, another well-known defensive end, potentially being on the way out sooner than later.

Clark agreed to take a paycut which drops his $3.5 million salary down to $841k, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. And to piggyback off that, Garafolo’s colleague Ian Rapoport pointed out that this makes Clark “much more tradable” while stating that it appears the Broncos “would be open to that.”

With Clark’s restructure and the writing appearing to be on the wall, ESPN’s Field Yates labeled his days in Denver as “coming to an end. He also cited that it will happen via trade or release.

Clark has played a total of just 36 snaps this season, logging 25 in Week 1 and then remaining on the sidelines through Week 5 when he received 11 snaps.
