Although the Denver Broncos did not qualify for the playoffs in 2023 under new coach Sean Payton, the year included several highlights, including recognition for the team’s best player.
Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain was recently named a 2023 All-Pro by the NFL Players Association. It is the second year NFL players can propel their peers under their accord.
Some players on offense that join Surtain on this player-voted list include Lamar Jackson, Travis Kelce, and Christian McCaffrey. On defense, Surtain joins the likes of Myles Garrett, Roquan Smith, and Aaron Donald.
Surtain finished the season with a career-high 69 tackles, 12 passes defended, and one interception total. He also appeared in and started all 17 games for Denver this season.
Next season, the Broncos must prepare for Surtain’s final season on his contract, in which he may command a large contract in the open market. With Surtain returning on his rookie contract investment, it’s a bet that the Denver organization will do whatever it takes to keep Surtain in the Mile High City.
