Three teenagers have been jailed after a man was stabbed to death in Bromley last year.
Gabriel Petrov Stoyanov was fatally wounded in Downham shortly before midnight on November 4, 2022. He was taken to hospital but died the following afternoon.
The 21-year-old is believed to have been murdered in "revenge" for his "minor drunken horseplay". A 15-year-old boy was the youngest person convicted following a trial in connection with the incident.
Both him and another teen, aged 17, cannot be identified due to their age but the oldest can be named as 18-year-old Alfie Kibble. They all received at least six years behind bars. The older two were both convicted of murder and the 15-year-old for manslaughter.
Prior to the incident, an intoxicated Mr Petrov approached the three on a bus and “annoyed” them, flicking the ear of one, the Old Bailey heard this week.
Mr Petrov and his friend got off the bus two stops before the gang of teens - who were later captured on CCTV carrying a knife, motorbike chain and bottle back towards the scene.
“The three spotted Mr Petrov in a nearby takeaway shop,” a police statement read. They hid, before they jumped him as he left the premises, launching a violent and deadly attack.
“The 17-year-old was spotted on CCTV delivering the fatal blow as he stabbed Gabriel in the chest, penetrating his left lung.”
Mr Petrov was taken to hospital where he died the next day. The post-mortem established the cause of death as a single stab wound to the chest.
The three teenagers denied their charges but have all now been found guilty.
Chief inspector Kelly Allen said: “These three teenagers killed a young man for nothing more than revenge for his minor drunken horseplay.
“I am staggered that boys of this age are carrying out targeted and deadly attacks against defenceless victims, which is evident in this case.
“Gabriel’s family and friends have suffered immeasurable pain following his tragic death.”
Kibble, 18, of Manor Close, was sentenced to life imprisonment to serve a minimum of 14 years and nine months.
The 17-year-old male was sentenced to life imprisonment to serve a minimum of 14 years and nine months.
A 15-year-old boy was sentenced to six years and eight months.
A family statement added: “No words can explain how painful it has been to lose Gabriel in such a senseless and unnecessary way.
“Gabriel will always be remembered and we will keep him in our hearts forever. It’s been a long and traumatic process to get to this verdict but we are grateful that justice has been served.”
The attack follows six being convicted for deadly ambush on teenager in a Bromley park and another attack in Petts Wood.
