Trains between Manchester Victoria and Rochdale have been cancelled this morning due to a broken down train on the tracks.
No services are expected to run between the two stations until at least 9am, according to National Rail. Northern services, including some from Manchester to Leeds, are affected by the line closure.
Services will either be cancelled, revised or delayed. The routes affected are between Manchester Victoria and Rochdale, between Chester and Wigan North Western and Leeds and between Rochdale and Kirkby.

Ticket acceptance is in place on the Metrolink between Manchester and Rochdale and Ashton-under-Lyne. TransPennine services also continue to run between Manchester Piccadilly and Leeds.
