Police have launched an appeal to track two suspects seen fleeing the scene of a south London shooting on a moped.

Armed police swooped on the quiet residential street of St Norbert Road, Brockley, just south of Brockley Station, around 3.15pm on Monday after reports of a shooting.

Officers searched the area but could not find any suspects or victims.

They were called again a short time later after an 18-year-old man self-presented at a south London hospital with a gunshot wound.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

On Wednesday, police said they were looking for two male suspects who were seen leaving the area two-up on a moped.

There have been no arrests.

Officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime (Trident) team are investigating and ask anyone who was in the area and saw anything suspicious, or who may have captured dash cam or doorbell footage that could be useful, to contact them.

Photos taken from the scene on Monday showed a Ford Focus being taken away and the road taped off by police.

The incident was the third shooting to occur in south London in less than a week, with other firearms incidents in Brockwell Park, Lambeth, and Brixton, also under investigation by police.

Anyone with information about Monday’s incident is being asked to call police via 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting reference CAD 4414/16May.
