WWE champion Brock Lesnar has ruled out a return to the UFC in a definitive statement.
The combat legend claims he is “too old” to step back into the Octagon and has committed his future to professional wrestling.
In 2008, four years after his first run with Vince McMahon’s mega corporation came to an end, ‘The Beast Incarnate’ made his debut in the UFC.
He went on to win the heavyweight championship and his reign lasted an impressive 707 days.
The 44-year-old featured on eight UFC pay-per-views, headlining six and ranking as one of their highest-paid fighters.
Lesnar has a great relationship with the company president Dana White, but despite the pair being on good terms, he claims his time as a UFC fighter has come to an end.
“That door is closed. You know what, Dana White, the Fertitta brothers were exceptional to me,” he told the New York Post.
“I’m too old That’s a young man’s sport, and that door is closed. I’m Brock Lesnar, the WWE Superstar.”
This is not the first time the former UFC champion has ruled out a return, as back in March 2015, he revealed he would be "closing the door on MMA".
A year later, while under contract with WWE, UFC announced in June 2016, that he would return at UFC 200 on July 9.
WWE confirmed it had granted Lesnar "a one-off opportunity" to compete at UFC 200 before he returned to the company for SummerSlam on August 21, where he decimated Randy Orton.
Lesnar defeated Mark Hunt on points, but the result was later overturned following a failed drugs test.
Six years later he is the WWE champion once again and will compete in a blockbuster title match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38 next month.
His belt will be on the line as well as The Tribal Chief’s Universal title, in a winner-takes-all affair at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas on April 3.
His latest WWE appearance was at a live event in Madison Square Garden this past Saturday, where he was hit by Reigns with steel steps, which caused blood to pour from his forehead.
The Head of the Table stood over his fallen adversary and held both championships belts aloft, making an emphatic statement ahead of what is being billed as the 'Biggest match in WrestleMania history'.
