Wednesday was the make-up pro day for two Georgia Bulldogs standouts who are expected to be first-round picks in the 2024 NFL draft. Tight end Brock Bowers and offensive tackle Amarius Mims held a workout at Georgia in front of several position coaches and scouts. They did not participate in the Bulldogs’ pro day last month.
While they did each perform some positional drills, calling it a pro day is a little disingenuous. Neither Bowers nor Mims did any athletic testing. No 40-yard dashes, no jumping or agility testing. Mims didn’t even weigh in, while Bowers tipped the scales at 241 pounds.
Georgia TE Brock Bowers and OT Amarius Mims had their makeup Pro Day today. Bowers, at 241 pounds, looked explosive/moved well. Mims declined to weigh in. Both only did position drills—no testing for either.
Giants TEs coach Tim Kelly, Jets TEs coach Ron Middleton were on hand.

Bowers and Mims each had tightrope surgery during the season. It’s a procedure that repairs a high-ankle sprain by effectively tying the tibia and fibula together at the top of the ankle joint to prevent them from spreading apart (that’s what a high ankle sprain means).
The very limited drill work likely did little to move the draft needle in any direction. Bowers is the consensus top tight end in the class already and had nothing really to prove beyond being healthy enough to participate. Mims, who pulled out of the NFL Scouting Combine after suffering an injury in his workout there, is also widely considered a first-round pick regardless of any workout or athletic metric numbers.
