Hamilton has become the second rollout location for the UK’s fastest-growing wholesale fibre broadband operator.
The full fibre multi-gigabit network, Netomnia, will provide Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband infrastructure to almost 70,000 premises.
That will see them offer up access to its robust broadband network with an investment of almost £21m into the South Lanarkshire area.
Netomnia managing director, Alan O’Prey, told Lanarkshire Live : “Hamilton has a rich heritage of impressive and historic buildings.
"By using existing underground ducting and overhead infrastructure, we are able to provide the technology swiftly and in a way that minimises disruption.”
The company is partnering with KN Circet to roll out its broadband, allowing for a strong speed of deployment and execution capability, using cutting edge optical solutions.
The deployment of such infrastructure will be vital for a range of sectors including multi-nationals, high growth companies, SMEs and start-ups, as well as the growing work-from-home population.
Netomnia secured £123m in funding to support its rollout strategy at the end of 2021 and aims to reach one million premises by 2023.
