North Korea on Monday described South Korean President Lee Jae Myung’s expression of regret over cross-border drone incursions as “very fortunate and wise”, in a rare conciliatory response from Pyongyang after years of sharply hostile rhetoric.
Lee earlier on Monday apologised for at least two incidents in which drones crossed into North Korea, saying they had been carried out by civilians in violation of government policy and amounted to an act of “revolt” against their own country, reported Reuters.
