Brits urged to check if they have 'special' 50p coins that are worth £150 each

eBay Royal Mint Kew Gardens

Rare 50p coins are being sold online at around 300 times their original value.

The coins from the Kew Gardens release of 2009 are fetching in the region of £150 on the internet auction website eBay.

Around 210,000 of the coins, which were created to commemorate 250 years since Kew Gardens opened in 1759, are believed to be in circulation across Britain.
