Brits urged to check Euromillions tickets as 8 winners still yet to claim £1million prize

The National Lottery is urging people to check their EuroMillions draw tickets after it was revealed that eight winners have yet to come forward to claim their £1million prize.

The special EuroMillions European Millionaire Maker event on Friday 21 January saw 100 winners, 24 of them UK players. With the usual UK Millionaire Maker winner, that saw 25 UK players instantly become £1million richer.

Since Friday night’s special draw, 17 UK players have claimed their prizes. The remaining eight lucky winners are being urged to check their tickets and come forward to claim their prize.

After Thursday 27 January, the method of play will be released for any prizes that remain unclaimed from the draw.

Approximately two weeks after the draw, if no valid claim has been received, the area in which any outstanding tickets were purchased will be released.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said, “Friday night’s special EuroMillions draw was just that - special! Not only were 24 lucky UK winners of a cool £1,000,000 created, thanks to the special 100 millionaires European Millionaire Maker draw but, as with every single EuroMillions draw, there was one lucky UK Millionaire Maker winner too - 25 UK millionaires in just one night!

“We will now start to support the 17 ticket-holders who have come forward to claim their prize but are also very keen to find the missing 8. You could be sat on £1M and not even know it. We urge players to check their emails and tickets to see if they have amazing news. What an incredible surprise it would be to realise you’ve started 2022 as a millionaire.”

To check if you are one of the lucky winners, you can go online and check your tickets online at national-lottery.co.uk or by downloading the National Lottery app. You can also buy and check your tickets in retail. Playing online via the website or app means that your ticket is checked, and you get an email notification if you win a prize. You can also scan your retail tickets on the National Lottery app to check if you're a winner.

With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize if they have the winning ticket.
