One in 20 Brits have admitted to bringing an oven tray, toaster or kettle on holiday.
A survey of 2,000 UK holidaymakers from retailer Next has revealed the surprising things that people decided to take with them when jetting off abroad.
In fact, a third admitted to bringing their own towels and bed linen, even if their booked accommodation was fully equipped to meet those needs. (This was also a common trait for cutlery, glasses, plates and bowls).
Home comforts are clearly a big deal, with 47% of people saying they’ve packed food and drink that can’t be purchased at their destination - think tea bags, baked beans and crisps to name a few.

Cleanliness was also a key theme, with 15% of people admitting they had to take some form of cleaning equipment, be that household gloves or bathroom spray.
And while there are plenty of handy holiday packing tips out there, it seems that as a nation we're prone to stocking up on more items than we need. In fact, the survey revealed that underwear, shoes and toiletries are the most commonly overpacked items.
Flight attendants have previously revealed their own tricks to pack as efficiently as possible.
One member of cabin crew suggested always making a checklist before you even start to put items in your suitcase.
They recommended: "Make a checklist of everything you need. Not only will this help you save time packing, but it can also reduce the risk of forgetting essentials you need for your travels."
Another suggested being tactical about the clothes you bring, to make the most of your bag's space.
They said: "Opt for clothes that are flexible enough to cover a variety of situations, such as jeans or plain T-shirts. This is a simple yet effective way to reduce the amount you're taking, and leave yourself plenty of room for all of the other essentials you need. (Or even for a holiday souvenir or two!)."
