Britney Spears worries fans as she shows bruise after 'running into kitchen counter'

Britney Spears has left fans concerned as she showed a bruise she had acquired after "running into a kitchen counter".

The pop legend, 40, took to Instagram to share short clips for herself in a variety of outfits amid her ongoing feud with ex Kevin Federline.

Last week, Britney's lawyer issued a passionate statement defending the star in the wake of Kevin's recent Instagram post about her parenting.

Sharing the clips of herself posing in the clothes today, however, Britney worried her legion of fans as she referred to a bruise on her waist, saying that it "really hurt".

She wrote: "I had so many of these fashion videos, I decided to just put them all together in one !!! Not sure as to why my eyes look like a vampire in the black dress but it is what it is … Pssss oh and I have a bruise on my waist in the pink top because I ran into the kitchen counter and s***, it really hurt."

Concerned fans flocked to comment, with one writing: "Hmmmm."

While another commented: "Why does she always explain a bruise or eye make up not perfect. I think she worries too much about what people think of her."

A third wrote: "Ok, so they ARE watching us in the comments. All the bruise remarks apparently got some attention."

"Ouch that bruise looks like it really hurt—your eyes look great, don’t be so hard on yourself!!" another commented.

It's been a difficult week for Britney after Kevin, 44, shared footage of ex-wife Britney, 40, arguing with their sons on Instagram, telling the award-winning singer: "The lies have to stop."

The footage - filmed and shared without Britney's consent - came after the global icon claimed her teenage sons Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15, had acted "hateful" towards her when they visited.

In addition to his Instagram post on Thursday, Kevin has been publicly commenting on Britney's now-defunct controversial conservatorship via TV interviews.
