Britney Spears’ teenage sons will not be attending the pop princess’ wedding, her ex-husband’s lawyer has confirmed.

The 40-year-old Toxic singer, who had her controversial conservatorship dropped last year, is finally set to marry 28-year-old Sam Asghari in an intimate Los Angeles ceremony today.

However, Spears’ sons Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, are among a number of close family members that are not expected to attend the wedding.

Mark Vincent Kaplan, the attorney for Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline, has told TMZ that the former couple’s two children will not be at the nuptials.

“Although the boys will not be in attendance, Kevin and the boys are happy for Britney and wish her and Sam all the best going forward,” Kaplan told the publication.

The Standard has reached out to a representative for Spears for further comment.

Spears and Federline were married between 2004 and 2007.

During their romance, the couple had two boys.

Whiles Spears’ brother is expected to attend her wedding, other family members including her mother and father as well as sister Jamie-Lynn Spears are reportedly not attending the wedding ceremony.

Earlier on Thursday, images seen on MailOnline appeared to show a huge marquee being erected at Spears’ lavish home.

However, the couple have so far kept most details about their special day under wraps.

Last month, the mum of two shared a picture on Instagram featuring a veil which she revealed she’d be wearing on her big day.

Spears and Asghari have been an item since 2016 after they met on the set of her music video Slumber Party.

The couple has been smitten ever since, however, were unable to get married due to the terms of her conservatorship.

However, in November 2021 a judge ruled that the conservatorship is no longer required.

In April 2022, the couple revealed they were expecting their first child together before tragically revealing the singer had suffered a miscarriage.
