Britney Spears' fiancé Sam Asghari has reflected on the couple's tragic miscarriage by saying he is remaining "positive".
The 28-year-old former personal trainer, who has focused his attention on breaking into the acting industry, opened up about the heartbreaking loss during a recent interview with GQ, which was released on Wednesday.
Initially, Asghari seemed to distant himself from questions on the subject before admitting that he and Britney, 40, are still optimistic about extending their family in the future.
Britney is already a proud mum to Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, from her marriage to Kevin Federline but she has not given up on her dreams of having her first child with her husband-to-be.
Sam said in the interview: "We're positive about it. It's something that happens to a lot of people. And one beautiful thing that I heard was when the baby's ready, it'll come.
"So that was a beautiful thing somebody had said was, it's a common process and the female body is just so amazing, and just the human body in general is so beautiful that it heals itself. And that when the baby's ready it'll be the right time."
The GQ interview took place only 36 hours after the engaged couple had written a joint statement on their respective Instagram accounts announcing the loss of their child.
The statement read: "It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy. This is a devastating time for any parent.
"Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news.
"Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all of your support.
"We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult time."
Britney had announced she was pregnant on April 11 to continue her upturn in fortunes after her conservatorship had finally ended in November last year.
The pop star had been under the tight control of her father Jamie Spears and co-conservators since 2008 but she was free to take control of her personal life and her money.
Sam had got down on knee in September 2021 after five years of dating. They were first romantically linked after they met on the set of the singer's Slumber Party music video.
His burgeoning acting career is going from strength to strength as he features in comedy series PBC, while he has finished filming for Hot Seat which also stars Mel Gibson.
