Britney Spears made a shocking claim on Tuesday as she alleged her mum Lynne Spears once slapped her "so hard" for staying out late while she looked after the singer's two sons.
The popstar, 40, took to Instagram to recall the incident, which Britney claims happened when she came home at 4am following a night out with Pairs Hilton and Lindsay Lohan.
Lynne, 67, had been minding her daughter's then two-month-old son Jayden and one-year-old son Preston.
Britney shared a clip of Jennifer Lopez slapping Jane Fonda in Monster-in-Law and wrote: "The first time I ever got slapped was the one night Paris and Lindsay dropped me off at my beach house with my babies!!!
"Kevin left me at that point, so I had a small beach house and my mother was watching Jayden and Preston … yes I partied till like 4am and my mother was P**SED!!!!
"I walked in she looked at me and slapped me so hard that I will never forget it!!!"
Britney also said she has never slapped anyone, but always wondered what it would be like.
"I swear I’ve never slapped anyone my whole life!!! I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO SEE WHAT THAT FEELS LIKE … JUST SAYING!!!
"Psss since then I’ve always wondered what it must feel like to slap someone... GUESS I WILL NEVER KNOW!!!! Stay classy folks!!!
"This was all 15 years ago … I mean we’ve all grown up since then!!!"
Lynne has not responded to the post on Instagram. The Mirror has reached out to Lynne for comment.
Britney's claims come after she slammed her mum's attempts to make amends, telling her: "Take your apology and go f*** yourself!"
The Toxic singer had taken to the social media platform to ask for a "genuine apology" from her family to "help give closure".
Lynne then commented: "I am soooo sorry for your pain! I have been sorry for years! I love you so much and miss you!
"Britney, deep down you know how much I love and miss you! I apologize for anything and everything that’s hurt you!"
The author also begged the Grammy winner to "please unblock" her so they could speak in person.
Britney didn't accept her mum's apology and instead reflected on the numerous doctor's visits she endured over the years, while hitting out at her family in a now-deleted Instagram post.
She wrote: "I was the mother f**king Saint who was scared to move or I knew my dad would put me somewhere if I didn’t cooperate … even in America, the land of the free!!!!"
"Not one mother f**king person stood up for me !!! Mom take your apology and go f**k yourself!!!"
