An 18-month-old British toddler has tragically drowned in a swimming pool in Spain's Costa Blanca. The tot died this morning despite desperate attempts by paramedics to save them.
Emergency crews were called to the tragedy in La Nucia near Alicante at around 10am today. A helicopter was also sent to the scene but all efforts to resuscitate the toddler proved unsuccessful.
The Civil Guard confirmed an investigation was underway. The Mirror reports that it was not immediately clear whether the dead child was a boy or a girl.
