The short list nominations for The British Soap Awards have been confirmed as the award ceremony looks set to return to our TV screens next month after two years off air. Phillip Schofield will be reprising his role to host the live televised awards, which honour the nation’s much-loved and long-running soap operas.
After a break in the awards due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the soap awards will air live on ITV and ITV Hub in June. Taking place in London at The Hackney Empire, the night of glamour and entertainment will see famous faces from across the TV and showbiz world unite together for an evening of soap celebration.
The five biggest soaps - Coronation Street, Doctors, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks - will be battling it out to win recognition for their work over the past year - and there is plenty of drama to choose from. With 14 awards up for grabs, some of the biggest faces from all five soaps will be hitting the red carpet for the most anticipated event in the soap calendar.
