The nominations for the British Soap Awards have been revealed, with 2022's ceremony set to be the biggest night of the year in the British soap calendar.
Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the event had been cancelled for the last two years. But much to the delight of soap fans the awards have returned and will grace TV screens next month. Phillip Schofield will be leading the way as host for the night as soap stars battle it out, with the likes of EastEnders and Emmerdale scoring 13 nominations each, Coronation Street just behind with 12, Hollyoaks with 11 and Doctors with nine.
The public will get to decide the Best British Soap category alongside Best Leading Performer and Best Family, while the rest of the categories are chosen by a panel. The Outstanding Achievement and The Tony Warren awards are set to be announced on the night.
