A Brit who dismembered a Thai mum and stuffed her remains in a suitcase was “fixated by petite women” and suffered steroid rage as a teen, it is claimed.
Murderer Shane Looker was said to have “revelled in any kind of aggro”, says a woman who knew him when he was a muscular bouncer.
Sex tourist Looker, 52, was jailed 12 days ago after confessing to killing dancer Laxami Manochat in Bangkok. He dumped her in a river in a case weighed down with rocks. Her clothes and a dead dog were in the bag.
Now a former friend has told how she saw flashes of rage from the businessman in the late 1980s. The woman, who does not want to be named, said: “I saw that he claimed he would never hurt anyone – but I knew damn well that he would.
“Shane took his bouncer job very seriously – too seriously. He always seemed angry. He was known to take steroids and seemed to enjoy fights.
“He was known for roid rage and never backed down if there were any kind of aggro. He’d revel in it. He would be staring out at people, chewing gum all the time – angsty.”
The woman was a barmaid at Stones wine bar in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs.
She knew Looker from school in Newcastle-under-Lyme and adds: “He was a rough-and-tumble teen and had a lot of girlfriends.
“He had a thing for petite girls, he was fixated with them. He went out with a staff member who was very petite, she must have been 5ft 2ins in stilettos, while he was over 6ft.”
The woman clashed with Looker years later when he insulted a friend.
She adds: “He didn’t like her because she’d had a black boyfriend. He said something about her being an enemy of the state. He came across as a neo-Nazi. I defused the situation, because it looked like he would attack her.”
Looker was jailed for 16 years in Thailand, cut to eight due to his guilty plea. He met mum-of-one Laxami, 31, at the Hot Lips bar in November 2014.
Looker fled to Spain where he was held in 2017. The court also ordered him to pay Laxami’s family £291,000.
