British-based pet owners with plans to travel to the EU have been warned of new rules set to make some pet passports invalid.
From Wednesday, anyone travelling from England, Scotland, or Wales to an EU country with pet dogs, cats and ferrets - including assistance animals - will now require an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for entry and should no longer use EU pet passports.
