British holidaymakers warned as Spanish police hand out £85,000 fines

British holidaymakers have been warned they could be fined £85,000 for attending an illegal party in Spain. The British Embassy has warned tourists heading for Ibiza and Majorca against going to illegal gatherings.

It says while the parties are regular events across the islands they are illegal. And it added those who attend them could face hefty bills with fines of up to £85,000 being dished out to those who attend.

This would include any British citizens who are on holiday in the country. The rules have been set in place following a number of serious accidents at these parties, reports Birmingham Live.
