British Eventing confirms deaths of two riders in separate incidents

  • British Eventing announced the deaths of two riders, Sophie Fouracre and Kerry Donoghue, following separate cross-country accidents on Saturday.
  • Sophie Fouracre, 34, was fatally injured during an event at Swalcliffe Park in Oxfordshire.
  • Kerry Donoghue, 42, died hours later after a cross-country accident at Penrith, Cumbria.
  • Both horses involved in the incidents were examined by vets and confirmed to be uninjured.
  • British Eventing will conduct comprehensive reviews of the accidents and expressed deep heartbreak and condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.
