The boss of UK chipmaker IQE has urged more government support to build the UK chipmaking industry as he stressed the “importance of compound semiconductors to a series of fundamental mega trends which will shape the global economy.”
IQE CEO Americo Lemos told the Standard: “When you look at our global economy, it’s fuelled by the electronics industry. We can’t see GDP without semiconductor products.
