A British businessman has been charged with murder in Hong Kong after his housekeeper was found dead at the bottom of a waterfall.
The 34-year-old, who has not been named, and his wife were both arrested at West Kowloon train station on Tuesday
Police said the suspect went to Waterfall Bay Park in Pok Fu Lam at around 11pm on Sunday but left about 40 minutes later.
The Briton was allegedly seen rushing to a taxi alone.
The housekeeper, a 25-year-old woman from Indonesia, was discovered floating in a pool under the waterfall at around 7am on Monday morning.
She is thought to have died after suffering head injuries, as well as more minor wounds to her limbs.
Police took the man back to the park - which is to the south of the city centre - to reconstruct his movements.
His wife - said to be a Hong Kong local - was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, but has since been released on bail, according to the South China Morning Post.
Detectives confirmed the man will appear at Eastern Magistrates’ Court on Friday, while his wife will have to report back to police in November.
According to local media, the British man and his wife settled there after marrying.
They had been living in the Hong Kong residential district South Horizons, where they ran a small business together.
