British Airways have announced they will be cancelling more flights this summer after months of disruption already.
The travel industry is under pressure as major airlines are fighting staff shortages forcing flight cancellations and delays for holidaymakers around the UK.
A number of flights from Edinburgh Airport have been cut and British Airways have confirmed more cancellations are to come this summer.
Over the weekend some BA flights between Edinburgh and Heathrow were cancelled, with one family left 'devastated' as they had a Disney Resort holiday booked in Florida and were originally flying via Heathrow. Some flights between Edinburgh and Gatwick have also been affected by the recent surge of cancellations.

Back in May, British Airways announced that it would cancel 10 per cent of flights between April and October in an attempt to avoid having to axe flights on the day of departure. The airline said it contacted customers in advance to give them time to rebook or make other travel plans.
Now, with the latest batch of 'regrettable' cuts, this figure will rise to around 11 per cent.
In a statement, BA said: "We took pre-emptive action earlier this year to reduce our summer schedule to provide customers with as much notice as possible about any changes to their travel plans. As the entire aviation industry continues to face into the most challenging period in its history, regrettably it has become necessary to make some further reductions. We're in touch with customers to apologise and offer to rebook them or issue a full refund."
Hundreds of more flights are set to be axed this summer by BA at Heathrow and Gatwick, impacting tens of thousands of passengers. This comes as the Government introduced a slot amnesty, which enables airlines to temporarily hand back any take-off and landing slots they do not have the resources to use, without punishment. Under normal rules, carriers lose slots if they do not use them.
Speaking about the new rules, BA said: "We welcome these new measures, which help us to provide the certainty our customers deserve by making it easier to consolidate some of our quieter daily flights to multi-frequency destinations well in advance, and to protect more of our holiday flights."
How to check if your British Airways flight is cancelled from Edinburgh Airport
British Airways Flight Tracker allows you to check the status of your British Airways flight on their website and app by inputting your flight number or airport of destination and arrival.
You can also check the status of flights flying from and to Edinburgh Airport here.
What to do if your flight is cancelled
If your flight is cancelled, you are entitled for a full refund or a replacement flight to get you to your destination.
Citizen Advice also add: "If you’re part-way through a journey and you don’t want a replacement flight, you also have a right to a flight back to the airport you originally departed from.
"Ask for a refund or replacement at the airport if you can. If not, you can claim from the airline later.
"You also have a legal right to:
- Help with costs - If the cancellation delays you two or more hours.
- Compensation - If you’d be delayed two or more hours by the replacement flight offered and you were given less than two weeks' notice."
