US bombers have taken off from RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire as Donald Trump was hitting Iran with the most intense airstrikes of the war.

At least four of the giant B1 supersonic aircraft, which can each carry 24 cruise missiles, took to the skies on Tuesday and were believed to be heading towards the Middle East.
