Britannia has been ranked as the worst hotel chain in the UK for a ninth consecutive year, according to an annual survey by consumer group Which?.
Cheshire-headquartered Britannia, which has 61 hotels across the UK including Liverpool city centre's Adelphi and Scarisbrick Hotel in Southport, has come bottom of the pile after receiving an average customer score of only 49%.
More than half (51%) of Britannia guests surveyed said they ran into a problem during their stay, with cleanliness being the most common issue.
