A Vladimir Putin stooge says Britain is set to be “plunged into the sea” as he ranted Russia could send 500m radioactive tidal waves splashing over the nation.
Dmitry Kiselyov, dubbed the tyrant’s propagandist-in-chief, told Russian state TV the Kremlin would first strike with its hypersonic missile known as Satan-2.
And in scenes straight out of the most corny straight to DVD science fiction film, he added it would be followed by an attack with its “underwater robot drone”, known as Poseidon.
He reckons the weapon would send a giant tsunami surging up mainland Britain which would leave the country a “radioactive wasteland.”
The threat came after Russian media bogus claims that Boris Johnson threatened the Kremlin with a nuclear strike.
Kiselyov, doing his best impression of a James Bond baddie, said on his Vesti Nedeli talkshow: “What will happen after Boris Johnson's words about a retaliatory strike on Russia?
“Why do they threaten vast Russia with nuclear weapons while they are only a small island? The island is so small that one Sarmat missile is enough to drown it once and for all.
“Russian missile Sarmat [aka Satan-2], the world most powerful…is capable of … destroying an area the size of Texas or England.
“A single launch, Boris, and there is no England anymore. Once and for all. Why do they play games?”
Kiselyov - who is reportedly avidly watched by Putin along with another outspoken propagandist Vladimir Solovyov -added: "Another option to plunge Britain into the depths of the sea is the Russian underwater robotic drone Poseidon.
"It approaches the target at a one kilometre depth with the speed of 200 kilometres per hour [125mph]. There is no way to stop this underwater drone.
"It has a warhead with a capacity of up to 100 megatons.
"The explosion of this thermonuclear torpedo close to Britain's shores will raise a giant wave, a tsunami, up to 500 metres [1,640ft] high.
"This tidal wave is also a carrier of extremely high doses of radiation.
"Surging over Britain, it will turn what is probably left of them into radioactive desert, permanently unusable for anything.”
Downing Street last week dismissed its apparent impending strike on Russia as "another example of disinformation peddled by the Kremlin".
The Sarmat hypersonic 208-ton ’Satan-2’ intercontinental ballistic missile has a speed of 15,880mph and is claimed by the Kremlin leader to be "unstoppable".
The Poseidon - being readied for service - is described as a giant nuclear-capable torpedo.
Details of its high-speed 125 mph underwater propulsion system of the atomic powered underwater drone are regarded as top secret.
Putin has boasted that it has an “unlimited range”, and said three years ago: “Work is going according to plan.”
Dmitry Rogozin, head of Russia’s Roscosmos space agency, said last week: “Boris, if Sarmat is used, none of you will consult with each other.
“And there will be no one to style your hair, Mr. Prime Minister.”
