Britain's Got Talent viewers have been left gob-smacked after Simon Cowell has revealed the true location of his hometown.
After Britain's Got Talent hopeful Amy Lou, a receptionist from the Midlands stunned the audience with a rendition of Beyoncé's smash-hit, Listen, Simon made his unexpected confession.
Naturally, Amy's incredible performance earned her four yes votes and Simon admitted that he was her biggest fan.
While delivering his vote, Simon announced his first real hometown.
"By the way, my mum was from Birmingham so I am a Brummie," Simon revealed.
After confessing where he is truly from, naturally, viewers flocked to Twitter to share their reactions.
"WHAT is going on!!!!! Simon Cowell is a brummie!!!! OMG," one fan tweeted.
"Awhhhhh cute never knew Simon was from Birmingham," another echoed.
"No way is Simon a brummie," someone else added.
While a fourth disbelieving viewer tweeted: "Hahaha Simon has lost the accent somewhere along the line. Poshest brummie I've ever seen."
Someone else complained: "As if Simon Cowell is trying to claim he's a Brummie... no sir, you most certainly are not one of us."
Britain's Got Talent returned tonight with a glitzy lineup of hopefuls who were determined to impress the judges.
The new series saw former Strictly Come Dancing star Bruno Tonioli join the judging panel, following the departure of David Walliams last year.
Once again hopefuls are competing for £250,000 and a coveted spot at the Royal Variety Performance later this year.
