Britain's Got Talent viewers demand new rules as Amanda and Bruno vote to 'even things up'

ITV viewers are calling for Britain's Got Talent to change the rules for the live semi finals after judges Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli both sent the vote to the public to choose who would go through to the live final on Sunday.

The semi finals saw a young boy, Malakai Bayoh, who sings angelically, went straight into the final as the overall winner. Whilst Tom Ball, the third place act from 2022, didn’t manage to get into the top three.

However the four judges were left to decide who went on into the final. They were forced to choose between gymnastic pair Duo Odyssey and human beatbox singer MB14, who impressed with his rendition of Gangsta's Paradise entirely using his voice, reports Yorkshire Live.

However the four judges were left to decide who went on into the final. They were forced to choose between gymnastic pair Duo Odyssey and human beatbox singer MB14, who impressed with his rendition of Gangsta's Paradise entirely using his voice.

When deciding who to vote for Simon Cowell and Alesha Dixon voted for MB14, but then Amanda Holden said she wanted to 'even things up' by voting for Duo Odyssey, before Bruno then said he didn't want to choose and asked Simon if he could take it to the audience vote.

This meant that Bruno chose Duo Odyssey and evened the vote which then went to the public. That meant MB14 lost out and gymnastic duo Duo Odyssey won through to Sunday's final.

@Adin1as said: "I'm low key p*****, I wanted MB14 through to the final. You lot are just too dumb to get art. Thank you, as payback, I will now be an extra menace to straight people during this month."

@natalieWM3 said: "What a fix - Bruno having the last vote!! #BritainsGotTalent"

@chrismurraycl1 said: "What is the point of a public vote if we have to then go to the judges what a load of"

@foxey890 said: "there should be 5 judges, so then there is no public vote and they actually do their job properly"

@grant_richy said "Your judges will be SACKED in the morning You are all “waste of time” First & second rather than decide which one for the second place"

@niall778 said: "So MB14 got 2 deserved votes for his talent, the other act got their 2 votes out of sympathy, how is that even allowed, what an absolute farce!!

"Absolute joke from Bruno and Amanda voting just to even things out, your paid to be a judge and to make a decision, not to "even things up' ridiculous, feel for MB14 #BGT"

@facejabber said: "The judges should lock in their vote beforehand, should stop this "evening it out"

@dragondaemons said: "So if the judges send it to public vote every time then then they shouldn’t be allowed to buzz acts in the semi final #BritainsGotTalent"

@philm2244 said: "Amanda wasting her vote "just to even things up". Bruno bottling it. They get paid huge amounts of money but cant do their jobs."

Elsewhere, a magician got three buzzers from the judges for his card tricks, while Boycanto descended into chaos as Simon Cowell got a pie in the face - before exacting revenge on Ant McPartlin. The semi kicked off with Tom Ball revealing himself as the voice of Noodle in a hugely unexpected return for the 2022 third place act.

Britain's Got Talent's semi finals continue live every night this week, with the grand final On Sunday this weekend, all on ITV1.
