Britain's Got Talent sensation Maxwell Thorpe has revealed he almost auditioned for the ITV series before the 2022 series, but changed his mind.
The BGT hopeful, dubbed the "new Paul Potts", wowed the judges, the audience and viewers at home during Saturday's episode with his amazing vocals.
Stepping out onto the stage, the shy contestant soon surprised everyone with his big, operatic voice after years of busking and performing to people, but never actually stepping on a stage.
Speaking on Lorraine on Monday, Maxwell has now confessed his terror over his audition, the same terror that has stopped him in the past.
The hopeful revealed how he had nearly auditioned for the ITV talent show in the past, and was actually set to audition prior to this year but he changed his mind and didn't attend.
Speaking to the show's host Lorraine Kelly, he revealed now was his time to shine while not giving away if he'd made the semi-finals or not.
Lorraine had said: "I cannot believe it's taken so long to discover you, cos you have been busking for how many years?" to which he replied: "It will be 10."
She went on: "I can't believe nobody said come on, but there had been some nearly times haven't there, but do you feel like this is the right time for you, you're ready for this?"
Maxwell told her: "Yeah absolutely, definitely, yeah. I think my priorities have changed, my perspective has changed and I was terrified to come on the show.
"I was really, really terrified, one time I was going to come and then I just couldn't imagine myself on the other side of the screen with Ant and Dec, and I just thought you know, I'll stay here, I'll watch that."
Lorraine told him: "But this year was the right time, it was the right time."
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV and ITV Hub.
