Britain's Got Talent's famously chatty judges were rendered momentarily speechless tonight (Saturday) by a busker with an operatic voice. Maxwell Thorpe stunned the auditorium while performing the classic operatic song Caruso.
The 32-year-old from Sheffield has been performing on the streets for a decade and revealed that sometimes he would be “singing to people that aren’t listening”. He said that he was nervous before the audition, but it didn't show in his performance.
When he finished, there was roaring applause and a standing ovation from the audience and judges. The unassuming singer dressed in a jumper and baseball cap appeared overwhelmed as the judges sang his praises and gave him four yeses, reports PA.
