Britain's Got Talent judges appeared to get a huge shock in the first act of tonight's semi-final when the identity of a CGI cat named Noodle was finally revealed.
The voice behind the singing grey haired moggy has remained a mystery throughout the series. But within seconds of the first act taking to the stage Noodle's identity was finally revealed - and it turns out he's a familiar face to the ITV.
Judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell all seemed speechless as the stage doors opened and last year's contestant, singer Tom Ball, stepped out on stage belting out Guns N' Roses' song 'Live and Let Die'. And presenters Ant and Dec appeared equally surprised, rushing in to hug Tom after the performance.

"Oh my goodness, it's only Tom Ball, runner up from last year!", Ant said. Dec added: "We should probably add at this stage, we had no idea who was the voice behind [Noodle], the judges had no idea. It turns out it's last year's runner up Tom Ball."
Simon said: "I swear to God I had never knew who was behind the cat."
Alisha said: "You made such an impression on us last year and this is a lovely, refreshing surprise to see you again. You sound phenomenal, well done Tom."
Viewers have been speculating throughout the series about who the voice behind the singing cat could be. However, tonight, following the big reveal many seemed to be asking the same question.
Taking to social media, one person said: "He has an upcoming album and tour. Why is he back again? #BGT". Another added: "Why has Tom applied again when he has a record deal? #BGT"
A third wrote: "If you've already got a record label and an album coming out then why are you going on BGT again? You're depriving somebody else of an opportunity to make a living out of something #BGT"
And a forth added: "Anyone else just google Tom Ball for a reminder….wow what a voice but if he's got a album coming out already…..who created noodle! That's who should come on stage."
It comes after Tom announced in a post-performance interview with Ant and Dec that the show had "changed his life completely. He added: "I had a massive amount of success over in America with Simon, it was incredible. This year I've signed a record deal, I've got and album coming out, I'm going on tour and it's all because of this show."
But some viewers were also happy to see the singer return. One person wrote: "I loved Tom Ball last year @BGT so happy to see him back. Amazing voice." Another added: "I must admit I sort of enjoyed the suspense of who's the voice behind the cat. #BGT"
