ITV bosses beware: the Britain’s Got Talent judges have warned that this year’s live shows will be “chaos” for the new panel.
And with Bruno Tonioli on the panel, having never seen the show before, it figures.
The former Strictly judge is obviously used to dishing out verdicts with a strict time limit, thanks to his previous experience on the BBC series.
But, as he warns, that was before he was on a panel with Simon Cowell.
“The problem is me and Simon together, we’re trouble,” Bruno, 67, says. “I can see it in his eyes when he wants to cause mischief."
“The problem is, that is the trouble because then it’s almost pushing each other to be naughty – I just know he’s going to try and get me in trouble somehow.” So there might be a struggle keeping them on time.
But Bruno admits having Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden separating the pair helps keep the show moving forward.
He adds: “It’s actually a good thing I’m at the other end of the desk from him.
“If we were sat together, the show would be seven hours long.”
In fairness, the auditions have proved chaotic enough, with Bruno not quite getting to grips with the golden buzzer and, over the weekend, a CGI cat performing for the judges.
The live shows later this month will feel almost normal.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom
What’s in a name, Shakespeare pondered, and Katy Perry is running with the idea and ensuring she and fiancé Orlando Bloom’s initials are in order.
“Orlando and I’s initials are OK,” she notes.
“We put in the work to make sure they aren’t KO. Find yourself a partner that will go down to the mat with you and get back up every time. I love you Orlando.”
Nothing says romance like a wrestling analogy.
