Britain's Got Talent fans say 'at last' as it emerges Malakai has famous connection before complaining about 'outrageous' interruption

Young singer Malakai Bayoh headed straight into the Britain's Got Talent semi-finals tonight after Simon Cowell pressed the coveted Golden Buzzer. The 13-year-old wowed all of the judges - Simon, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli - and the audience at the ITV talent show auditions with his heavenly performance of Pie Jesu in the second episode of the new series on Sunday night (April 16).

With his proud mum and sister cheering him on from the audience, fans watching at home also loved his angelic audition. Before Simon pressed the buzzer, he praised: "Malakai, there is only one word I can use to describe that - golden."

Walking on stage to congratulate him the head judge said: "You have one of the best voices we've ever heard for someone your age." Alesha said: "It was so heavenly and beautiful I went into a trance." And Simon agreed: "It was like being in heaven." And Bruno told him: "You sang like an angel."

@TheRealDeclanK1 declared: "That is the winner of #BGT this year." @DavidMackayy tweeted: "Malakai, best act of the night, best unexpected moment, best kid act, best singing act, purely sensational." And @atiyaalam exclaimed: "A star is born!"

Danny Denay said: "That's talent. unfiltered talent. That's what it's about. Golden indeed." And @CliveinEngland commented: "#BGT at last some real talent. This kid is fantastic."

Another fan @pauharri gasped: "Wow #BGT malakai that was awesome!! What a voice a cross between Charlotte Church and Aled Jones." And some viewers may recognise Malakai from previous performances with classical singing star Aled, who as a teenage chorister gained widespread fame with his version of Walking in the Air in 1985.

Treble singer Malakai, who in November sang the role of Oberto in Handel’s opera Alcina at the Royal Opera House, sang O Holy Night with Aled in a Christmas due released by Classic FM, and he couldn't resist asking Malakai to join him on The Snowman classic Walking in the Air.

After Malakai's captivating performance, it was time to take a breather before the next act, but some viewers were complaining about the number of ads during the show. @HowlinMad3 grumbled: "Will ITVx adverts ever f off!" And they complained: "You can't make a cuppa in ad breaks these days, you'd be on lav all night."

@OllieBozec said about the ads: "The adverts tho are outrageous. Luckily I watch it 15 mins late to skip them like." And @HeidiPeeps tweeted sarcastically: "Adverts already? Oh #BGT you are really spoiling us."
