Britain's Got Talent dedicate audition to King Charles in adorable upbeat musical

A Britain's got Talent act dedicated their performance as a special tribute to the newly crowned King Charles III.

Banji came on stage to introduce himself and the class of kids he had with him, as he announced the musical group would be dedicating their performance to the monarch, calling it 'New King'.

Their performance was aired on the same day of the King's Coronation. "We hope to win and perform in front of the new King, King Charles III," one of the kids said as they beamed towards the crowds erupting with clapping.

When asked how they felt waking up this morning to come on the show, one child hilariously responded they felt "tired," as they got an instant thumbs up from the judges with their comical quips.

Audiences were delighted as they burst into song with their catchy and upbeat performance which involved them dancing and singing across the stage in a musical-style number with Union Jack umbrellas out in full force.

During the song, even Ant and Dec were smiling at the "catchy" tune,

After their performance, Simon said: "Sometimes when we see these school acts no one is smiling but this was the opposite.

"Brilliant, fun, very British... just what we are looking for."

"If King Charles III was sat up in the box he would have absolutely loved it," added Amanda.

Coming to the decisions Simon teased the group as he said: "I really need to think here. Throwing pies at eachother and eating pizza.....

"That's EXACTLY the school I would like to be at," before they got a resounding 'yes' from the judges and went through to the next round.

Meanwhile, thousands of Royal enthusiasts gathered around Buckingham Palace this afternoon on Saturday to celebrate the official crowning of King Charles and Queen Camilla as they waved to well-wishers from the Royal balcony.

The 74-year-old monarch was joined by senior members of the Royal family by his side as he stepped into his late mother Queen Elizabeth's former role as head of state.

Britain's Got Talent continues Saturday on ITV.
