There will be a bumper weekend of Britain's Got Talent action this weekend as the hit how returns after a near two hiatus.
It was back in October 2020 that Jon Courtenay became the latest champion on the ITV, at the end of a series that faced serious disruption due to the coronavirus pandemic. The auditions that year were held in January, meaning they were all done and dusted before Covid restrictions were introduced in the UK.
However, with the country plunged into the first national lockdown in March, which lasted to July, the semi finals of BGT couldn't go ahead as planned in May, and instead were pushed back four months to the autumn. Jon, hosts Ant and Dec' s Golden Buzzer Act, won in the final and ended up performing at the Royal Variety Show.

The show was cancelled completely last year with the country put back in lockdown in January 2021, but now, it's back and ITV are going all out for its launch, with episodes on two consecutive nights, Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17 . Confirming the news on Tuesday morning, a tweet from the Britain's Got Talent account read: "Only FOUR MORE DAYS until the BRAND NEW series of #BGT.
"The first two episodes begin Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 7.35pm on @ITV and @WeAreSTV." Replying to the post, one fan commented: "Can’t wait for this weekend," with a second reacting: "can’t wait 4 days to go see you on Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 7:35pm."
The news of when BGT will be on over Easter comes right after a teaser for the new series saw presenters Ant and Dec dragging a contestant off stage during the auditions.
