The top UK cities for affairs have been named - with one coming out top for cheating.
For the second season in a row, Exeter has been named the UK’s top city for having an affair beating competition from the likes of Salford and even Manchester.
Whether due to being highly sexed, bored in marriage, or just wanting to spice things up, married Devonian’s are proving that there’s so much more to Exeter than sleepy streets, tea and scones.
Research by the world’s leading married dating site, Ashley Madison, who also placed Exeter in the number one spot in winter 2022, shows cheating is happening in other places you’d least expect.
For instance, the picture postcard city of Lincoln makes it to fourth place leaving the sprawling metropolis of nearby Nottingham trailing behind in seventh.
Likewise, the city of Worcester, famous for Worcestershire Sauce, surrounding countryside and magnificent Cathedral makes it to ninth place, while nearby Birmingham, the UK’s second city, doesn’t even make the list!
Other surprises include London in a dwindling sixteenth place, whilst a short drive up the M1, the people of Luton boast eleventh place. Perhaps holiday go-ers are taking advantage of overnight stays at the airport to spice up their sex lives?
Whatever the case, it’s not always the most obvious cities where people are choosing to explore a world of non-monogamy.
Christoph Kraemer, Managing Director Europe for Ashley Madison, said: "One would think that non-monogamy is something more prevalent in big cities, but our ranking shows it is a national phenomenon.
“Already one out of ten Brits admit to preferring a non-monogamous relationship and the number is growing every day.”
