Britain Got Talent's Amanda Holden gives Bruno Tonioli the chop in dramatic act

The Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals are finally here and for most of this year’s acts this is the last chance they have to prove they have what it takes to win the ITV competition. Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli have now had their say and the general public will cast the deciding vote on who makes it through to the grand final on Saturday, June 3.

In a dramatic act by Miki Dark, Amanda Holden said she thought she had "killed" fellow judge Bruno after Miki brought the pair on stage for his act. Amanda was put in charge of a huge guillotine with Bruno put in position for the chop.

The crowd screamed as the huge blade fell - and Bruno's head appeared to roll across the stage. Luckily for BGT fans, Bruno was unscathed in the act.

Simon Cowell said he thought the act "ended too quickly... I just wanted a little bit more..." Bruno said he was shaken from the act but loved the production before he could not see what was going on.

It seems viewers also found the act terrifying, with one Twitter user saying, @DavidOrchiston: "What a way to terrify a whole audience well done the scary magic person".

@RyanTheSoapking also said: "Can't lie that scared me to death."
