Brit holidaymaker sparks airport chaos after six-hour flight delay prank

A prankster announced over an airport tannoy there were six-hour delays, causing mass panic.

The British holidaymaker took the microphone at Zakynthos Airport in, Zante, Greece, after spotting an unattended desk on Friday.

Sam Wilson filmed the unnamed man - wearing a PSG tracksuit top - saying the flights to Gatwick and Manchester had been pushed back during a flurry of announcements.

Sam, 22, was waiting for his own flight back to Birmingham at the time.

In the footage, the passenger said: "The flight to Gatwick has been delayed by six hours."

He gave some made up flight information before going onto say: "Unfortunately, the flight to Manchester has been delayed by six hours."

Waiting passengers and airport officials can be seen looking confused.

There was no actual flight scheduled to Manchester.

Security eventually hauled the prankster away.

He could be seen also being confronted by a police officer who appears to unclip his gun holster.

Sam posted the video on TikTok, claiming the man was not allowed to board his flight home.

He wrote as part of a caption within the clip: "Hats off to him, but I don't know what happened to him next. He wasn't allowed on the flight."

Sam told The Sun: "We were waiting for the gates to open when we just heard a few strange announcements.

"When I looked up I just saw him on the microphone, so I had to get my phone out.

"Seeing people's reactions was hilarious as half the airport couldn't even see him."

Sam's post has had over 82,000 views.

He captioned it: "What a geeza, but Zante has him now!"

Sam added that the man's friends were "extremely worried" as they didn't know whether to leave him.

However, he said he had later found out he was released, after the airport reportedly threatened to take his passport off him for three days.

Most of the commenters saw the funny side.

One wrote: "Only a laugh. Hardly harmed anyone."

Another added: "I was also there. It was quite funny. Wonder what happened to him."

And a third said: "From someone who lived in Zante, you don't mess with the Zakynthians."
