A Bristol businesswoman has gone viral on TikTok after being mistaken for global superstar Adele at a 1975 gig. Rebecca Aspinall was at the band’s concert in Manchester when the clip was taken by @ellenawalker.
The 14-second video zooms in towards a woman in a blue dress, provoking a very emotional response from a couple of audience members. They were clearly convinced they were within touching distance of Adele.
By today, the clip had over 1.4 million views and a buzzing thread on whether it really was Adele. Rebecca, who has her own TikTok account, put it out there that it was actually her at the concert and not Adele.
She said: “We were at The 1975’s concert in Manchester on Friday night and we upgraded to VIP tickets." Rebecca ended up sitting in front of actor Tim Healy, whose son is Matty is the lead singer for The 1975.
“So when people started recording with their phones in our direction, I thought it was because it was Tim Healy, but it was because of me. I didn’t realise what was going on, people were coming up to me and asking me for pictures. I didn’t have a clue,” she said.

She said a client who was at her business on Monday told her about the clip which was going viral. “My friend’s daughter had seen it with people thinking they had seen Adele and then my son saw it.”
She went on to her own account and posted that the video clip was of her at the concert, not Adele. “It’s kind of funny as people keep saying it’s not me, it’s Adele, so I’m leaving them to it now,” she said.
The debate heated up online as to whether it really was Adele which caused even more of a frenzy. Rebecca said that many people tagged Adele who was in Las Vegas this weekend.
“It would be funny if Adele had seen it. I do like her music and although she’s not my favourite artist, I think she will have to be from now on,” she said. Rebecca, who owns Aspinall Aesthetics in Kingswood, said: “Adele is 10 years younger than me, so it proves whatever I’m doing is working."
Some of the comments posted on TikTok of fans who were sure it was Adele. One said: “Everyone looking at Tim Healy, not realising it’s Adele next to him!” Another said: “Girl I think that’s Adele." Other comments included: “Is that Adele next to Mr Healy?”
“The girl who everyone thinks is Adele is gonna be buzzing when she sees this haha.”
“Legit tho is that Adele?”
“Is that Not Adele ? did anybody figure bc im 99.9% sure.”
