'Big Jeff' Johns has been moved from the intensive care unit onto a ward after he was badly injured in a house fire last month. The Bristol legend, 39, will continue his recovery in Swansea Hospital.
His art manager, Lee Dodds, has previously said that Jeff may remain in hospital for "many months" after he has badly burned in a cooking fire at his home in Totterdown. He regained consciousness and was taken off a ventilator at the end of June.
A statement shared on his social media on Wednesday night (July 27) reads: "We are thrilled to be able to let you know that Jeff is out of intensive care and is now continuing his recovery on the ward in Swansea. 4 days left to run to add your message to Jeff's online card! Please follow this link to get involved."

Members of the public have been invited to sign an e-card to send their well wishes to the artist during his recovery, which has already received hundreds of signatures. The music fan attends most music events in Bristol and is known by much of the community and beyond.
At Glastonbury Festival Bristol band Idles shared a tribute to Big Jeff, with lead singer Joe Talbot telling the crowd: "He’s everything that we wish we represent, he’s everything that is music fandom and he is everything that is love."
