Bristol Rovers have announced the signing of defender Lewis Gordon ahead of Saturday's game against Burton Albion.
The 21-year-old left-back has signed a two year deal after his release from Brentford. Gordon came through the academy at Watford and has been capped at under-17 and under-19 level by Scotland.
Gordon, who is eligible to play against Burton this afternoon, becomes Joey Barton's fifth summer signing after impressing on trial at The Quarters.
“Lewis made an immediate impression on the group after coming in on trial," Barton said.
"I’m delighted to agree a deal and look forward to working with him. He has lots of potential and I’m sure the Gasheads will give him a warm welcome.”
Gordon made one appearance in Thomas Frank's first team at Brentford, playing against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup in 2020/21.
The 21-year-old has some senior experience from a loan spell at St Albans City in 2020 and was a regular starter in Brentford's B team, playing 70 times for Neil MacFarlane's side.
Gordon brings much-needed depth on the left side of the defence, with Josh Grant injured, Trevor Clarke exiled and Nick Anderton diagnosed with bone cancer.
