Bristol man stole £192 worth of Calvin Klein pants from Sports Direct

A designer brief thief called Noel admitted stealing a haul of pants weeks before Christmas. Jamie Noel walked into Sports Direct in Broadmead and helped himself to boxer shorts worth £192, Bristol magistrates heard.

Noel, 24, of Highridge Green in Bedminster, pleaded guilty to theft on November 1. Magistrates adjourned the case, pending a pre-sentence report, to February 6.

Jane Cooper, prosecuting, told Bristol Magistrates Court today (December 28) that Noel picked on the wrong shop. She said: "Sports Direct has more CCTV cameras than you can shake a stick at.

"Mr Noel picked up eight boxes of Calvin Klein boxer shorts and walked out without paying for them. The matter was reported to police and the defendant was identified."

The court heard the stolen underwear was recovered. Noel admitted that he failed to attend before magistrates on November 28 and was arrested.

Steve George, defending, said his client first came to the attention of the courts at the beginning of this year. Mr George said: "Drugs are a problem.

"He is in a position to get assistance for that and he would like that help. If he can address that there will be long-term stability."
