There have been no new coronavirus deaths within the Bristol region while cases continue to drop at a significant rate. It comes on the same day that the scrapping of all remaining Covid restrictions have been announced
It's the third consecutive day that the UK has recorded less than 40,000 daily cases and Boris Johnson addressed the public and announced that you would no longer need to legally isolate after a positive test from Thursday.
A total of 723 cases were recoded across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Bath and North East Somerset. However, despite cases dropping, four areas of Bristol are still recording one in 100 people with Covid-19.

Bristol recorded the most new cases within the region with a further 322 positives. Meanwhile, neighbouring South Gloucestershire had a further 176 cases confirmed.
North Somerset established 132 new cases within the past 24 hours. Elsewhere Bath and North East Somerset dropped below 100 daily cases with just 93 recorded since yesterday.
There were no new deaths across the Bristol region today, however, across the UK there were 15 new deaths reported in the past 24 hours.

The number of positive test results in each area of the Bristol region since the pandemic began is recorded below, with new positive test results recorded today (Saturday, February 19) in brackets:
Bath and North East Somerset: 49,273 (+93)
Bristol: 140,166 (+322)
- North Somerset: 53,547 (+132)
- South Gloucestershire: 79,089 (+176)
