Bristol City player ratings vs Swansea City: Zak Vyner shows consistency as Robins rally back

Max O'Leary - 6

Question marks about why he put Atkinson under pressure for the opener when he played it to his feet on the edge of the area. Got a few crucial touches to dangerous crosses from wide positions. Did everything expected of him.

Zak Vyner - 7

One of the players who can come out of the game with real credit. Timed his tackles really well and limited the threat coming from his side. Also happy to call and receive the ball in tight areas highlighting his own confidence at the moment.

Rob Atkinson - 4

A howler of an error to gift Swansea the lead when he misplaced his pass to Vyner. Should have won a penalty in the opening 45 minutes when taken down from behind. In fairness to him, recovered from his mistake well and put in a decent showing but the damage was done early on.

Kal Naismith (off 72, Williams) - 6

Was tasked with keeping a close eye on Joel Piroe who he struggled to contain with the forward's movement in and around the box when Pring pushed forward. Moved into midfield in the second half to bolster the numbers and it certainly helped contain Swansea.

Cam Pring - 6

Offered little in the first half, showed reluctance to get forward with Piroe and Oliver Cooper prepared to double up on Naismith and take advantage of the extra man. Got into good crossing positions in the second half, one of which was headed over by Weimann. Superb tackle towards the end of the game in his own area.

Matty James - 5

Struggled to deal with Swansea's movement and interchange. The visitors played through the middle of the pitch with ease but he was helped out in the second half with the extra body. Managed to control the game better in the second half.

Alex Scott (off 83, Bell) - 6

Had a bright ten minute spell in the first half but like James, couldn't deal with the dominance of the extra man in the Swansea midfield in the opening 45 minutes. Was guilty of playing one or two wayward passes. Played further forward in the second half which benefitted Weimann but seemed to hesitate with the ball in advanced areas.

George Tanner (off 73, Sykes) - 6

Couldn't get forward inthe first half to put the pressure on full-back Ryan Manning and get his side up the field. Defensively, looked assured alongside Vyner. Attempted to play forward passes but without conviction. Showed more bravery to get further forward in the second half but without the end product.

Andi Weimann - 6

Game completely bypassed him in the first half with Swansea easily and confidently playing it around him. Improved in the second half when he had more red shirts around him. Headed a decent effort over the crossbar before assisting Semenyo with a cross for the equaliser.

Antoine Semenyo - 7

Feel he could have won his side a penalty in the first half. One or two moments of quality without posing a threat until he pounced at the backpost to head City level at a crucial time in the contest. Hassled defenders with his pace and power.

Tommy Conway (off 25, Wells) - N/A

Barely had a kick of the ball until he came off injured in the first half after taking a knock on the touchline. Replaced by Nahki Wells.

Substitutes

Nahki Wells (on 25, Conway) - 6

Couldn't spark his team into life in the first half but made some good runs in the second that allowed Semenyo space to run into. Played a handful of dangerous crosses into the area but none of his team-mates were able to gamble.

Joe Williams (on 72, Naismith) - 6

Added an extra bite and energy in the midfield when City needed it the most.

Mark Sykes (on 73, Tanner) - 7

Tried to get forward at every opportunity and was full of energy and pace down the right side. Eager to take his chance to earn a start in the league.

Sam Bell (on 83, Scott) - N/A

Subs not used: Bentley, Dasilva, King, Kadji, Taylor-Clarke
