Bristol City player ratings vs Huddersfield: Massengo and Dasilva struggle in underwhelming game

Dan Bentley - 6

Little chance with the first as Toffolo breached the defence. Made a great reaction save to deny Holmes in the first half. A handful of smart stops in the second including one to deny Ward with his feet.

Robbie Cundy (off 74, Idehen) - 6

Could have been stronger and more alert to prevent Ward from bundling in from close range. Perhaps unlucky to see his clearance hit the opponent on its way in. Better in the second half before coming off injured.

Timm Klose (off 77, King) - 6

Started well, read the game well. Couldn't be blamed for either of Huddersfield's goals. Nudged off the ball by Sinani in the second half which almost proved costly. Assured performance and came off with a knock. Shooks hands of each and every team member on coach after coming off.

Rob Atkinson - 5

Weak in the challenge for Huddersfield's first as he was beaten by the skill of Toffolo, allowing the defender to breeze into the box. Stepped forward well to win the ball but a disappointing showing in comparison to his recent form. Made a number of important headers.

Jay Dasilva - 5

Not his best performance in a City by any stretch. Not quick enough to close down the cross for the second goal. Gave Ward too much time and space on that side and found it difficult to make an impact offensively. Sloppy with a delivery.

Alex Scott - 6

Handed a tough opening 45 minutes, given a tough time by the opposition down his side. Could and probably should have done better in defending against Toffolo for the opener. Moved into the middle on 54 minutes, looked more assured. Had a glimpse of goal but spurned it high and wide.

Matty James - 6

Like Massengo, found it difficult to deal with the runners in midfield. Looked a little lost without the aggressiveness of Joe Williams alongside him. Closely marked which meant he struggled to get his foot on the ball.

Han-Noah Massengo (off 54, Tanner) - 5

Perhaps his final appearance in a City shirt and unfortunately it was rather uninfluential, struggling to make an impact on the game. Found it difficult to deal with Huddersfield's extra man in midfield. Showed a glimpse of skill to get away a cross but was taken off immediately after a mis-touch.

Andi Weimann - 6

Really struggled to get himself into the game in the opening 45 minutes. Huddersfield had done their homework to keep him quiet. Dropped deeper to get the ball in the second half but barely had a sniff of goal.

Chris Martin - 6

Lively in the first half, winning defensive headers and linking up with Semenyo. Frustrated at times with his strike partner not on the same wavelengths. Had a strike saved by Blackman on the angle. Touch heavy on occasions.

Antoine Semenyo - 6

Had two glimpses of goal in the first half but was denied by the legs of Jamal Blackman. A frustrating performance by the striker, glimpses of his quality met by a wasteful final delivery.

Substitutes

George Tanner (on 54, Massengo) - 6

Great to see him back on the field for the first time since his injury at the end of December. Looked nervy and was told to calm down by Pearson. Kept it simple. Made a great tackle.

Duncan Idehen (on 74, Cundy) - 6

Did everything that was expected of him, made a crucial interception.

Andy King (on 77, Klose) - N/A

Subs not used: O'Leary, Bell, Conway, Wells
