Bristol City player ratings vs Derby: Semenyo a real handful as he ends goal drought

Dan Bentley - 7

Little to do until Ravel Morrison tested him from distance which he confidently palmed away in the first half. Beaten from close range for Forsyth's header.

Alex Scott (off 23, Bell) - 6

Barely had time to show what he is about before he was forced off with a facial injury in the 23rd minute. Looked to get on the end of a deep cross but appeared to take an arm to the face from Louie Watson. Received treatment but couldn't continue.

Robbie Cundy - 7

Comfortable in the first half perhaps could have done more to stop a dangerous cross which almost led to a Derby goal. More of a test in the second half having to cover for Sam Bell. Troubled on occasions but good in possession.

Timm Klose - 8

Certainly had tougher tests throughout his career up against two inexperienced forwards in Watson and Bartosz Cybulski. Experience prevailed with a comfortable display. Scored the all-important third - his first for the club.

Rob Atkinson - 8

Stepped forward to bring the ball out well in the first half. Covered for Benarous well when the youngster was caught out of position at left wing-back. Good tackle on Morrison in the first half in the box. Seemed to mop up every loose ball. Another solid game.

Ayman Benarous (off 71, Idehen) - 6

Handed a tough test in an unfamiliar position against Ebiowei. Was caught out of position a couple of times in the first half and booked. Goal came down his side when he failed to stop the cross. Tried to play on the front foot. Never stopped running and was subbed off for Duncan Idehen on 71 minutes.

Matty James - 7

Started brightly in the first half but appeared to fade as the game went on. Would have wanted to put more authority on the game in the second half when the going got tough. Assisted Klose with a great delivery.

Joe Williams (off 86, King) - 7

Booked in the 10th minute and was forced to play with the shackles on. Defended well enough but scrappy at times and would have liked to have dominated possession more, especially in the second half.

Andi Weimann - 8

Took his 20th of the season brilliantly - never even looked like missing when played through on goal. Had a couple of other half chances but failed to take them. Dropped deeper in the second half.

Chris Martin - 7

Played his role in the opening goal with a deft flick into the path of Weimann, leaving the Derby defender on the turf. Won his headers offensively but team-mates were on different wavelengths a frustrating number of times.

Antoine Semenyo - 8

Was involved in the build-up to the first before scoring his first goal in 10 matches, pinching the ball of Stearman before brilliantly finishing in the corner on the angle. A real handful for the Derby defence although should have put the game to bed immediately after Derby's goal.

Substitutes

Sam Bell (on 23, Scott) - 6

Looked to play high up the field on his introduction and produced a number of teasing deliveries early on. Lost his marker for Forsyth's goal but a decent display in an unfamiliar position. Gave the ball away in the second half in dangerous areas. Subbed off in the 76th minute as City changed shape.

Duncan Idehen (on 71, Benarous) - 6

Early nerves when passing it out of play when trying to find Weimann on his debut. Seemed to settle soon after especially as City's third went in. Made a brilliant late tackle inside his own box.

Han-Noah Massengo (on 76, Bell) - 7

Won the free-kick following some great skill that led to City's third - a more than welcome contribution!

Andy King (on 86, Williams) - N/A

Subs not used: O'Leary, Conway, Wells
