Nigel Pearson believes the sky is the limit for Antoine Semenyo after his dazzling performance left the Cardiff defence chasing shadows.
Chris Martin will take the headlines, and rightly so after his two brilliant finishes helped The Robins secure an enthralling 3-2 derby day victory over rivals Cardiff.
Andi Weimann put the icing on the cake with City's third of the evening after Semenyo showed composure to play him through on goal - his second assist of the contest.
His first was equally as impressive with a deft flick into the path of Martin who broke through on goal before unleashing an unstoppable left-footed effort into the corner.
The only thing missing from Semenyo's performance was a goal and he will be wondering how he didn't ripple the back of the net when his late strike cannoned back off the post.
It's now six full 90 minutes for Semenyo in six weeks with a return of three goals and four assists during that run of fixtures, including those two against Fulham - not bad for a player whose injuries had limited him to just one league start before that period.
And Pearson believes there is still plenty more to come from the 22-year-old who is beginning to show his full potential.
After the contest, the manager said: "I think at his age there will be further development but he’s very difficult to play against, no doubt about that.
"I’m pleased with how he’s doing and I’m pleased we’ve got different options in forward positions. It’s nice to have pace. It’s good to have pace in the side and we’ve got plenty of that.
"All of the front three are no slouches and when you’ve got someone like Callum [O’Dowda] in wide positions with pace too, it means we’ve got some options.
"He has learned a lot in the last 12 months, I think he’s come quite a long way. He must be very difficult to play against. He’s got pace and power and he uses it well."
Martin hadn't scored at Ashton Gate since the opening day of the season but showed he is making up for lost time with two clinical goals.
His first was an instinctive strike, opening his body and curling the ball into the far corner just seconds after James Collins headed in the opener.
It was a crucial time to score and Pearson is delighted that he has silenced his critics.
"Chris comes in for some criticism but he’s a team player. He’s good at both ends of the pitch, he’s a very reliable defender for us but he deserved those goals today because he’s worked exceptionally hard for the team today. He’s done very, very well," the manager added.
Early injuries to Rob Atkinson and midfielder Andy King took the gloss off the victory after the pair were forced off the field in the first half.
Pearson confirmed Atkinson was struggling with a back problem while King's threatens to be more serious with a hamstring injury.
On the injuries, Pearson added: "Two injuries. Rob’s [Atkinson] got a problem with his back and Kingy, [Andy King] hamstring."
King appeared very frustrated, punching the ball into the crowd before trudging down the tunnel but Pearson admits it is too early to speculate on the severity of the problem.
